An iInflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the stomach, which is also known as an inflammatory pseudotumor, is a rare tumor-like, benign disease that is characterized by the proliferative myofibroblasts, fibroblasts, plasma cells and lymphocytes. We report a case of a gastric inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in a 35-year-old female. The endoscopic examination revealed a 3?3 cm sized polypoid mass with an intact mucosa in the fundus of the stomach. Histologically, the tumor consisted of spindle cells with a large number of plasma cells and lymphocytes in the fibrotic background. (J Korean Surg Soc 2007;72:71-74)
